1.1 Human Resource Planning
Human Resource Planning determines the strategy for getting, using and keeping people for work in an organization. The general planning process has been discussed in section, but there are certain specific elements of a human resources plan which will need to be considered. These include:
- Planning for future needs
- Planning for recruiting
- Planning for development
A. Planning for future needs
This is human resource planning at its simplest. Its is concerned with forecasting the further demand for labors, and thinking of ways to make sure that a sufficient supply of labour will be available to meet that demand.
The forecasting process will be trying to predict the following:
- The number of people need in the future. The type of skills will need to have, and the quality of those skills.
- It will also need to predict the range of jobs and activities which will need to be done.
- The organization will also need to know the range of responsibilities to new (and existing) staff that will need to be met.
